Must See Movies for Artists and Art Lovers!

Sometimes artistic vision can be illusive. Inspiration can come to us through numerous avenues.  For some the web provides lots of ideas, for others its travelling and seeing interesting sites, things and people and for others, their minds provide original creative ideas. In my case, many things and situations inspire me.

One unusual source might be movies.  As an art lover, these following moves might also pique your interests.

Edvard Munch (1974)
The troubled life and career of one of Norway's most celebrated artists is examined with documentary-style realism in this biography from celebrated filmmaker Peter Watkins.
Available on Netflix

Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010)
The story of how an eccentric French shop keeper and amateur film maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner. The film contains footage of Banksy, Shephard Fairey, Invader and many of the world's most infamous graffiti artists at work.

La vita di Leonardo da Vinci (1971)
Italian television miniseries dramatizing the life of the Italian Renaissance polymath Leonardo da Vinci

Les amants de Montparnasse (Montparnasse 19) (1958)
Biographic movie about the last year of the famous Italian painter Modigliani. Modigliani, a poor painter in Paris of 1919, falls in love with a daughter from a wealthy family. Her parents are against their relation and stop financial help.

Regardless of your interest, these films will expand your creative horizons.

A couple of weeks ago, I showed you a wonderful old window I was going to repurpose. Last week you saw the background of the paintings I wanted to inserted in that window.  Well here is the finished package. The final results are appealing.
