Art representing the culture and tradition of Christmas

Don’t you just love this time of the year with twinkling lights, the smell of balsam trees and cinnamon, and bustle that the holiday season. The power of our senses and how they create an experience within your surroundings are at their best during this season. Think about what you see, smell and hear every day and how some of those simple elements enhance the experience within that environment.

At this time of year, I especially appreciate the beauty of art that adorn our streets and homes. Art is one means of representing what the holiday season means to each of us culturally and even traditionally. The beauty of art is the ability to change someone’s life through experience. We are fortunate to have so many talented artist and artistic events in our community.

Throughout this holiday season, I encourage you to take a moment to really appreciate the beauty of art around you.

Today’s watercolour of snowflakes was painted to replace the banner on my Facebook page and website.
