Opening of Da Artisti, a new art gallery in our community

A few days ago, Da Artisti opened its doors in Cumberland Ontario. The Canci family renovated the old general store to be a beautiful art gallery and studio while respecting the unique heritage aspect of the building.

This new art gallery offers more than walls where art is hung. Art is also found on and in various cabinets. This venue provides a warm gathering place where art admirers can relax and enjoy art from local artists. The works featured in the gallery are varied - oil, acrylic, watercolour, fused glass, stained glass, linocut print, interesting furniture, etc.

Here are a few pictures from the grand opening. I'd like to thank all of my friends who came out to this event.

The studio part of the gallery will be opened to experienced professional and recreational artists and may be available for lessons.

It's important that we support our local businesses. In an increasingly homogenized world, communities that preserve their one-of-a-kind businesses and distinctive character have an economic advantage.  Locally owned businesses build strong communities by linking neighbors in a web of economic and social relationships, and contributing to local causes. Compared to chain stores, locally owned businesses recycle a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community.

Here are few of the paintings that I am honoured to have on exhibit in this gallery.
