Tulip Festival and Art

We're fortunate to have so many festivals and events in Ottawa. One of the best is the tulip festival in the spring. The tulips of the Capital are a powerful symbol of the friendship born out of liberating the Netherlands.

Artists play an important part of the Ottawa Tulip Festival. There are numerous events that required artists, including:

• artwork with a tulip theme for the Tulip Gallery at Aberdeen Pavilion
• onsite workshop
• painting one of the 65th anniversary 5' tulips
• working in and around the tulip beds next to Dow’s Lake

In addition to painting a couple of those large 5' tulips, I'll be exhibiting three paintings at the Tulip Gallery. Here is one of them that is almost finished.

The tulips are only a few weeks away - but first the snow must melt.

I'm looking forward to seeing the 200 tulips I planted in my own garden last fall.
