Painting at Art Shows

You may recall that a couple of weeks ago, I was at the Art in the Park at the Experimental farm.  After setting up the tent, grids and paintings, before the show opened and between groups of visitors, I was able to paint a little bit.

I started a small painting of an imaginary nature scene.   The surrounding trees and landscape at the Experimental Farm were the inspiration. The painting was completed at home in my studio. Here it is.
Painting at shows always makes for interesting conversation with attendees.  Many people like to see how a painting progresses.

In the coming weeks a few of my paintings will be exhibited in the following locations:
  • One small painting:  Promenade Gallery of the Shenkman Arts Center, until October 16th
  • Three paintings: Applecrate Gallery in Manotick as part of the Ottawa Watercolour Society juried show.  Artwork will be shown at the gallery until November 9, 2018.  The vernissage is September 8th.
  • One painting: Trinity gallery (Shenkman Arts Center) as part of the Arts Network Ottawa's Selections exhibit that ends October 16th. The vernissage is September 20th.
  • One painting: St Laurent Complex as part of Arteast Ottawa's Juried competition. The vernissage is also September 20th.
  • One painting: Atomic Rooster as part of the "Cock Show". This vernissage is September 11th.
This weekend I'm working on a painting of a macro view of an antique item.
Have a great week,

Danielle
