Water Lilies

There are few people who do not like water lilies. They can often be seen on quiet lakes and ponds floating serenely.

When seeing water lilies, many people are reminded of the dreamlike paintings of Monet. Water lilies often evoke romantic sensibilities.

About a year and a half ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the New York City's Botanical Garden. We were there to see the Chihuly exhibit that was on display throughout the beautiful garden. I was pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful water lily and lotus collections behind the beautiful conservatory.

The ponds contained water lilies of the most beautiful colours from red, pink, peach, purple, yellow and white.  The painting below is of the pink ones.  This painting is the third in a small set of three all of the same proportions.

This week, I'm back to painting an antique object that you will quickly recognize once you see it next weekend.

Have a great week,
Danielle
