Art is not essential. Or is it?

Food, clothing housing are deemed necessities. Art is not essential. Or is it? For more than centuries, there have been artists and art collectors.

Art exists in many forms and you can find it in every community, culture, and every country. Art has been created since time began, We've all seen evidence of art in cave paintings. Although there is research that demonstrate that art can be a major economic force, we continue to question the worth of art.

Like language and laughter, art is a fundamental human behavior. That's probably why every culture has art. If you look anywhere around the world, children create art.

Art helps us to share thoughts, ideas and visions that may not be able to be articulated any other way.
Art isn't only a painting. Art is anything that's creative, passionate, and personal. And great art resonates with the viewer, not only with the creator.

Art is a personal gift that changes the recipient. The medium doesn't matter. The intent does.

If you're not convinced, I invite you to visit a local gallery such as Da Artisti Gallery that supports local artists uniquely. Check out the local art and feel the art reach out to you.

I completed the following painting during one of my latest workshop.

Here is another painting I completed for participants during a different workshop.

And this one is a small exercise for rust and wood.

Have a great week

Danielle
