My first exhibit of 2017 is coming up in a few weeks. The Navan Fine Arts Exhibition will be held on April 22-23 at the Navan Arena. This will be my first time at this exhibit.
This exhibit has a theme - shoes. They're aiming to collect 150 pairs of gently used shoes. Dymon Storage, in partnership with Shoe Bank Canada, will collect and store the shoes and help distribute to those in need in the Ottawa area. The shoes will be distributed to people in need through food banks and other social agencies and in conjunction with Rotary Clubs. To date over 150,000 shoes have been collected in the Ottawa area. Shoe Bank Canada has collected more than 400,000 pairs of shoes across the country.
In keeping with the theme of this exhibit, here are the paintings of shoes that I'll have at this exhibit.
In addition to these painting of shoes, I'll be exhibiting paintings of landscapes, flowers and antique objects.
From April 28 - 30, I'll be participating in the Nepean Fine Arts Spring Show. The month of April will be busy.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting a small town in Florida that has a high number of antique stores. I took a couple hundreds of photos and now have to look at them to find topics for some new paintings.
