Discovering an Artist Journey

Our art is formed from our unique experience, thoughts, interests, and natural inclinations. I would like to help my students  catapult into their own unique artistic journey, helping them follow their own path and overcome the common obstacles, whether they’re just beginning their journey or already farther along.

Here are a few areas which are necessary for our individual journey:
  • Knowledge — Understanding and studying different paintings. Knowing the tools that are required.
  • Technique — Learning different brushstroke methods, and learning mixing methods for the right colours to visually express what you actually see.
  • Vision — This is the one element that truly amplifies everything. To find what resonates with you and makes your heart beat faster, there is no shortcut. An artistic vision is an artist's way of seeing, their perspective, their talk in the type of work they do, the colors they use, the images and story they wish to convey.
An artist develops their  journey over time, much like how they develop the way they walk, and talk, and dress.

Here is my demo for yesterday's workshop.  Again, I was very fortunate to have a great group of participants.

Today, I will be teaching a workshop to paint a seasonal tulip.  This will be my last workshop until next fall.

BTW, I'm still working on my painting with the two silver teapots and the lace curtain. I hope to have it done by next weekend.

Have a creative week

Danielle
